The work that Nelson Nature does is magnified considerably by community action.

We are lucky to have a wide network of volunteer organisations and individuals who work hard to help care for our threatened species and habitats. These volunteer groups do a huge range of tasks including weed control, tree planting, predator control, habitat restoration, stream water monitoring and litter collection.

Nelson Nature supports these groups with advice, resources, publicity, training, and networking opportunities.

We also support a vibrant Enviroschools programme and work with private landowners to enhance natural habitat through native tree planting, riparian management, erosion control, weed control and trapping programmes
