Nelson Heritage Festival 2019

hw programme pages

The Heritage Festival has an exciting programme of events on offer this year to celebrate and share our city’s rich and varied past. Now in its ninth year, the festival has evolved from a week of activities, largely organised by Nelson City Council, to a true community event across the month of April involving many organisations and community groups.

Last year hundreds of locals and visitors enjoyed over 40 individual events celebrating Nelson’s unique stories, people and places.

This year, an interesting and diverse programme has been organised with something for everyone.  There’s live performances, talks, tours and enjoyable activities at a range of wonderful locations on offer. The venues include the Nelson Provincial Museum, Theatre Royal, Suter Art Gallery, Libraries, Founders Heritage Park, heritage homes and more, with many events being privately run with support from Council.

Enjoy the festival and keep the programme in handy place during April!
