The Nelson Buskers Festival brings award-winning street performers from around the world to our beautiful city
Four days of action-packed shows at three different venues!

Trafalgar Street performances during the day and the Church Steps evening shows are family-friendly and free to attend (but do bring some cash to show your appreciation for the amazing skills of these hard-working performers).  The Thursday and Friday evening cabaret shows at The Boathouse are R18 and ticketed

This coming summer's performers are:

Hero-san (Japan)  An acrobat, breakdancer and gymnast. Hero-san's otherworldly balancing, outrageous humour and chopstick skills will have audiences spellbound.

The Atari Show by El Goma (Argentina / Germany)  Comedian and juggler.  High-class contemporary juggling, physical comedy, unsynchronised dance moves and upbeat improvisation. El Goma has amused and mesmerised audiences in more than 25 countries.

Sara Twister (Australia / Germany)  Contortionist and acrobatic archer.  One of the only professional contortionists in the world who, whilst balancing on her arms, can fire a bow … with her feet! A unique combination of the unforgettable art of acrobatic archery together with spoken comedy and audience interaction.  Ready. Aim. Fire!

The Silver Starlets (Canada)  All-female aerial acrobatic show, full of glam, glitz and glitter.  The Starlets use a 6m-high free-standing trapeze rig for their stage and twist, tumble, bend, climb and fall, captivating their audience with family-friendly charm, beautiful grace, and amazing strength. These girls don’t sweat... they sparkle!

Basketball Jones (New Zealand) Basketball freestyle and comedy juggling - ball skills like no other you've witnessed.

Each year, our Buskers Festival takes place in three venues:

Buskers on Trafalgar

Top of Trafalgar Street

The top of Trafalgar Street will come alive with buskers from all over the world. Join us for some hilarious, weird, wacky, eye-opening acts in the heart of the city. What more could you ask for, family-friendly street performances, cafés to get a bite from and beautiful hanging baskets and trees to linger under?

Buskers at The Boathouse - for the more adventurous! R18.
