Dog licence and registration

All dogs three months of age and older must be registered by 1 July.

Council understands COVID-19 has added significant additional financial pressure to many and is actively looking at ways to help our community navigate the impacts of the pandemic. Council has therefore extended the date where late penalties for dog registration fees apply from 1 August to 1 September this year to help dog owners to pay their registration fee as required by the Dog Control Act 1996.

For more information on changes to dog registration fees from 1 July 2020, visit our dog ownership fees page.

Once registered, the registration is required to be renewed annually by 30 June. Failure to register a dog three months of age and older before 31 August 2020 will incur an infringement fine as well as late registration fee.

Register your dog before 31 August 2020 to avoid a fine

Dogs can be registered online or using the form below and returning it to Council. Please note that tags will be sent by post when you register online.
