Approved Temporary Road Closure - Cleveland Terrace

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Asphalt & General to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:

Cleveland Terrace - between Atmore Terrace & Mill Street

Date and time of scheduled closure: Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July 2026 – starting at 8:00 am on the first day and finishing at to 6:00 pm on the last day (this is a 24-hour a day closure)

Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Monday 20 July to Friday 24 July 2026 –starting at 8:00 am on the first day and finishing at to 6:00 pm on the last day (this is a 24-hour a day closure)

The closure is for a power upgrade.

• Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be availablefrom either end of the closure – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are possible.
• There will be no access through between numbers 139 and 161 Cleveland Terrace. (Residents within this area will be escorted in/out as required)
• No roadside parking will be available.
• Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal – via either end of the closure.
• Pedestrian access will be provided safely at all times.

This proposal is made in accordance with the Local Government Act 1974. Unauthorised use of vehicles on the road during the closure period is not permitted and may constitute an offence.
