Temporary Road Closure - Waimea Road
As part of the Rutherford Street Stormwater Upgrade project, Fulton Hogan on behalf of Nelson City Council will be temporarily closing the following road to ordinary traffic on the dates listed below:
Waimea Road – between number 26 Waimea Road and Rutherford Street/Bronte Street Intersection.
Date and time of scheduled closure: 7:00am Monday 18 July to 5:00pm Friday 16 December 2022. Closed all day and all night. These dates provide flexibility to account for wet weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
A map showing the extent of the closure and proposed detour for Phase 1 of the project is attached to this letter. The different phases of work throughout the project will impact the extent and location of detours. Each stage will be communicated with the public well in advance of the layout changing.
The closure is for the installation of a new stormwater pipe, watermain, sewer and associated pavement works. The road will be closed and vehicle access will be unavailable in the road closed area during this time. Bus access will be available with detours in place.
Couriers and home help will need to use alternative parking, such as on Wellington Street. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.
For those properties directly effected by the works, alternative parking options will be available. Fulton Hogan will communicate this with impacted properties directly.
Rubbish bins and recycling are to be placed outside properties by 7:00am as usual. Fulton Hogan will make provisions to assist the collectors with picking them up and returning them to the properties.
