Boat Ramps
The Nelson Marina has a public boat ramp at Akersten Street. This ramp is designed for the launching of small recreational craft.

Annual boat ramp launching permits can be purchased from the Marina Office on Cross Quay and Nelson City Council customer service counter at Civic House on Trafalgar Street. To pay for a casual use fee ($5), ramp users can use the marina’s pay-by-plate meter. There are two wash down facilities in the Akersten Street ramp car park. Fresh water washing only; no detergents, degreasers or sandblasting.
