(Proposed) Temporary Road Closure - Nelson Italian Festival 2027

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Club Italia Nelson Incorporated to temporarily close the following roads to ordinary traffic for the date/s listed below.

Trafalgar Street – between Wainui Street and Elliott Street
Date and time of scheduled closure: Sunday 7 March 2027 – 6:00 am to 7:00 pm

This is for the Nelson Italian Festival

• The event will be held from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
• The road will be closed during this time, except in an emergency.
• Access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be made available – please follow the directions of onsite staff.
• A detour for through traffic will be in place for the duration of the closure
• The Route 3 eBus will be detoured for the duration of the closure. Please see eBus.nz for further information.

To understand how this closure could impact businesses/residents, Council is seeking feedback on this proposal by 12:00pm 26 August 2026
