Approved Temporary Road Closure - Newall Avenue & Bledisloe Avenue

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Fulton Hogan to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:
- Newall Avenue - between Porritt Place & Bledisloe Avenue
- Bledisloe Avenue - between Louisson Avenue & Kaka Street
Date and time of scheduled closure: Thursday 8 October to Friday 16 October 2026 – starting at 7:00 am on the first day and ending at 6:30 pm on the last day (24 hour a day closure)
Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Monday 19 October to Friday 23 October 2026 – starting at 7:00 am on the first day and ending at 6:30 pm on the last day (24 hour a day closure)
The closure is to carry out road repairs prior to road resealing.
- Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are possible.
- Roadside parking will be available.
- Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal.
- Pedestrian access will be provided safely.

This proposal is made in accordance with the Local Government Act 1974. Unauthorised use of vehicles on the road during the closure period is not permitted and may constitute an offence.
