Approved Temporary Road Closure - Trafalgar Street South

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Asphalt & General to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:
Trafalgar Street South - between no.365 and no.371
Date and time of scheduled closure: Monday 28 September to Wednesday 7 October 2026 – starting at 8:00 am to the first day and ending at 5:00 pm on the last day (24 hour a day closure)
Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Thursday 8 October to Friday 9 October 2026 – starting at 8:00 am to the first day and ending at 5:00 pm on the last day (24 hour a day closure)
The closure is for a footpath upgrade.
- Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are possible.
- Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal.
- Pedestrian access will be provided safely.

This proposal is made in accordance with the Local Government Act 1974. Unauthorised use of vehicles on the road during the closure period is not permitted and may constitute an offence.
