Approved Temporary Road Closure - Cawthron Crescent

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Donaldson Civil to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:
Cawthron Crescent – between Waimea Road and Stafford Avenue
Date and time of scheduled closure: Wednesday 7 October 2026 – 7:30 am to 6:00 pm
Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Monday 12 October 2026 – 7:30 am to 6:00 pm
The closure is to facilitate a planned power shutdown and switch-over to new electrical infrastructure, which may temporarily affect services in your area.
- Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are possible.
- Roadside parking will be available.
- Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal.
- Pedestrian access will be provided safely.
- Your electricity provider will advise you of the specific times that your power supply will be affected.

This proposal is made in accordance with the Local Government Act 1974. Unauthorised use of vehicles on the road during the closure period is not permitted and may constitute an offence.
