(Proposed) Temporary Road Closure - Konini Street & Mount Street

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Green by Nature to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:
- Konini Street - between no.11 and the Mount Street intersection
- Mount Street - between no.42 and no.80
Date and time of scheduled closure: Wednesday 7 October 2026 – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Thursday 8 October to Friday 9 October 2026 – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
The closure is for tree pruning and vegetation trimming.
- Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available – please follow the directions of onsite staff. Delays are likely.
- No roadside parking will be available.
- Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal.
- Pedestrian access will be provided safely.
To understand how this closure could impact residents/businesses, Council is seeking feedback on this proposal by 5 October 2026

This proposal is made in accordance with the Local Government Act 1974. Unauthorised use of vehicles on the road during the closure period is not permitted and may constitute an offence.
