This year’s Tuku 25 Whakatū events have been a vibrant celebration of our region’s cultural heritage. The festival was launched at The Boathouse in March, honouring the event hosts whose tireless work makes the festival possible.
With over 70 events on offer, there’s something for everyone — from learning how to make and use a pair of long poi in ‘Poi 102 with Matepō’, to the nostalgic charm of ‘Celebrate the Bungalow’ and the dynamic artistry of ‘Gymnastics Unfolded.' Each event helps to tuku (share) the unique stories of our people and place.
