Largest citizenship ceremony on record

One hundred and sixty Nelson residents from 31 countries became New Zealand citizens in the biggest citizenship ceremony we've had so far. Mayor Nick Smith and councillors Pete Rainey and Matty Anderson officiated the ceremony, and 22 students from Hampden Street School kapa haka group “Te Kākano” performed to mark the occasion.
