Volunteers needed to help keep history alive at Isel House

Ever thought about volunteering? Do you enjoy storytelling, meeting new people, and connecting with your community? Isel House, one of Nelson’s most cherished heritage sites, is calling for volunteers!

Built in 1849 for Thomas and Mary Marsden, Isel House is a Category Two Historic Place with over 170 years of stories to share. Open to the public from October to April, the house welcomes local, national, and international visitors.

We’re looking for friendly, community-minded people who are passionate about history and keen to help preserve and promote this special place. Volunteer shifts are short, just 2 hours during the week and 2.5 hours on Saturdays. Full training is provided, and you can volunteer weekly, monthly, or casually.

Joining our team of passionate volunteers will enable you to connect with fellow history enthusiasts, learn new skills, engage in meaningful projects and help create unforgettable experiences that inspire and educate visitors.
