Status: Operative
The following proposed plan change was made Operative and has been incorporated into the Nelson Air Quality Plan (NAQP).
The purpose of this proposed plan change was to make two changes to the Operative NAQP to align it with the National Environmental Standards for Air Quality (NES-AQ).
Main Changes
- Amend the target dates for compliance with the PM10 standard in Policy A5-1.4 to align with the new NES-AQ dates (Central Government increased the time for compliance with the standard for particle matter (PM10))
- Remove that part of the rule requiring compulsory phase-out of domestic enclosed burners in Airsheds A and B1 installed after 1 January 2008 and which are not compliant with the emission requirements in the Air Quality Plan i.e. essentially burners installed 2000-2003 (when the Air Quality Plan was notified).
- A minor correction was also made under Cl.20A of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act.
No Hearing or Appeals were lodged on the Plan Change.
