This is an historic route between the Maitai Dam and the Pelorus Valley - it is a rough four wheel drive track used by utility providers and some recreational groups. The track is open to 4WD vehicles, motorbikes, walkers and cyclists.
There are two locked gates to pass through between the Maitai Dam and the Maungatapu Saddle. Therefore, access via motor vehicle requires permission from Council to obtain access. Please fill in the Bluetooth Padlock Access Form to obtain this approval, which also gives you access to use the padlock via the LockVue App.
