Intersection
crashes are a major road safety issue in the Nelson region.
Police crash
reports highlight that over two thirds of intersection crashes in Nelson Bays were
caused by drivers either failing to give way, failing to stop or poor
observation.
Nelson City Council, Tasman District Council, and Waka Kotahi New
Zealand Transport Agency worked together to produce the
Intersection Safety Publication to help drivers in our community understand information on
intersection safety, black spots, roundabout use, and general road safety.
Remember to always be aware of cyclists and pedestrians moving through intersections and
roundabouts.
